Our scientific results mostly rely on animals, that’s why ERBC is involved from the start in ethics and animal welfare.

Compliant to National and European regulations on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes and fully accredited by AAALAC (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care), ERBC supports the Basel Declaration which call for more trust transparency and communication on animal research and strictly respects the 3Rs concept: replace, reduce and refine.

We also believe that is not enough to implement and develop an ethical thinking. At ERBC, research projects, study protocols and experimental procedures are reviewed by an Ethical Committee combining veterinarians and senior scientists and we continually improve our techniques and methodologies to maximize the balance between health and animal well-being and quite often to help not only human medicine but also veterinary medicine.

ERBC Italy is fully accredited starting from October 29th 2012
